The TVI Take
Park Chan-wook's 2005 third installment of the Vengeance Trilogy anchored by Lee Young-ae as Lee Geum-ja, a woman imprisoned for 13 years for a child kidnapping she didn't commit. The structural commitment to letting the protagonist's moral architecture remain unresolved across the film, the revenge target is real but the moral certainty isn't, is rare cinema-thriller work.
The visual development (the white-prison-uniform-into-stylized-vengeance-couture motif) is canonical Park composition.
