The TVI Take
A flock of sheep who've spent years being read murder mysteries at bedtime by Hugh Jackman's shepherd George Hardy must solve his murder when their human is found dead in the pasture. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Bryan Cranston voice supporting animals in a register pitched between Babe and a cozy mystery.
The film is patient with grief, Jackman's character is mourned, not just plot-puzzle-cleared, and the deduction sequences play fair, treating its young viewers as capable of inference rather than spectacle alone.
