The TVI Take
Simon McQuoid's sequel to the 2021 reboot brings the actual tournament the first film withheld, with Karl Urban's Johnny Cage, a past-his-prime Hollywood action star, providing the comic register the franchise has always needed. The fight choreography is committed and the fatalities are practical-effects-heavy, but the script is a connective scaffold between set pieces rather than a story.
For fans only; a near-flawless victory if you grade exclusively on the kombat.
