The TVI Take
David Lynch's 1997 nonlinear-identity film whose structural premise, that the protagonist is two different men whose identities literally exchange mid-narrative, is rendered without authorial explanation. The Robert Blake 'Mystery Man' character is canonical Lynch villain work.
Lower IQ than Mulholland Drive because the resolution refuses even the partial coherence the later film provides, but the formal commitment is the catalog's most extreme.
