The TVI Take
Tarantino's 2007 contribution to the Grindhouse double-feature with Robert Rodriguez. Kurt Russell's Stuntman Mike is one of the director's most carefully-rendered villains; the second-half all-female protagonist set is structural payoff for the first half's predator-stalking architecture.
Lower IQ than canonical Tarantino because the deliberately-exploitative genre commitment limits the philosophical reach, but the craft floor remains high.
