The TVI Take
Justin Marks's parallel-universe espionage thriller starring J.K. Simmons in dual roles as two versions of the same man whose lives diverged thirty years prior.
The show's central conceit, a Cold War conducted across a sealed dimensional rift, performs structural work on identity philosophy that genre conventions usually evade. Simmons is at career-best register. Starz cancelled after two seasons with a third scripted. The cancellation cost the show its full integration arc.
